After farting around with all of the ball but almost none of the shots in the first half, Nilwall shrugged off their uncharacteristic display of caution and tried hard to break down a rugged Cers team after the break. But their only truly golden chance was spurned by Walker, who hit the post, and then it all fell apart when their crumbly back line allowed Aspas the chance to snag it from the spot. Not what you might have expected from the league’s top scorers against its least prolific team, but it’s a good lesson in seizing the moment and you have to give the hosts credit for executing a gameplan with conviction.
