The Steven Gerrard Arena was treated to an absolute spectacle here. Halfman, as is their style, drifted in and out of good patches of performance, taking the lead in just the second minute through Partey but allowing the Geese to retake control thanks to Lukaku’s double. But Griezmann turned it on after the break with two very fine goals that proved too much for De Gea. Rodgers’s team may frustrate their fans at times but they entertained the neutrals today for sure.
