Chilean Menace
Firmly in the mire, Favre’s inexperienced rabble were not fancied at all against one of the league’s best teams, but handled themselves ably. The Pigs were given little space to demonstrate their superiority in possession, and their frustrations were compounded when the expressive Pellegrini shot home a surprise winner deep in injury time. It inflicted the home side’s first defeat of the season, and how valuable a performance this could be for the struggling Menace.

Farcelona
Maychester United
The multi-storey car park roared with anticipation for the biggest game of the season so far, and Farcelona delivered. Missing both Ronaldo and Casemiro, the visitors were forced to adopt a dogged defensive stance against the leaders but Suarez and Sane broke through for back-to-back goals midway through the first half. The likes of Bentancur and Barella enforced a chokehold on the midfield through which Pogba was unable to assert himself, and it took until the 89th minute for Costa to find – and convert – their first real chance of the game. The Farcelona run goes on, and they are now positioned as the clear team to beat.

Weasels feared a thumping as injuries and suspensions forced them to field a centre-back pairing of Monreal and D’Ambrosio but they took the lead within a minute when Carrasco rose to head home Alves’s free kick. Thereafter the two sides began an entertaining back-and-forth, with decent chances at both ends, but Lukaku eventually exploited the visitors’ weakness to make room for an equaliser. Lambert’s men stuck to it and a switch to 3-4-3 saw Zapata strike late on the break, but it was Silva, the former Weasel, who broke their hearts with a well-deserved equaliser within the very same minute. Both teams were good value here in a real crowd-pleaser, and neither will feel too unhappy about the result.

La Ball de la Foot
Nilwall FC
La Ball sensed an opportunity to heap trouble on the imperiled Pekerman and took the lead when Thauvin played Icardi into space. Throwing away his recent caution, the Nilwall boss responded by switching to a full Pension Club 3-4-3 at half-time. His team did the business with a perked-up performance and their step up was finally rewarded when Ibrahimovic broke down the inside right and rocketed a low shot across Navas. The Swede, who had stepped in for the absent Kane, made a typically powerful statement about his own ability and sealed the full turnaround with a thumping stoppage-time winner. It was an inspirational individual performance that caught Galthier’s men flat-footed.

The Pocket Dawgs
A willing but limited Martyrs side found themselves in a battle here against the resurgent Dawgs. Klopp’s men took the lead when Danilo’s flying cross carved open the back line for Taison to score, but Messi responded immediately to peg them back and the Argentine further displayed his superior class with a precision shot on the counter at the hour mark. The hosts’ DoF must be wishing that he’d had a chance to draft a player of Messi’s calibre.

Arbor Red
Brigstock Big Cocks
On a high after toppling Halfman, the Cocks drew first blood here when Rashford buried a penalty. Arkadiusz Milik, however, was having none of it. The Pole fired home either side of the half-time break in a dominant performance, with Salah following up to establish a strangehold. Bielsa’s men have been better than their results suggested all season and they certainly looked a class above their opponents here as they secured a third consecutive victory. Ferguson’s side remain firmly in the battle to avoid last place.

Rodgers’s side have been written off as title contenders in some quarters lately and they looked in a mood to change that here. After only eight minutes both Coutinho and Aubameyang had the ball past stand-in keeper Moon. But Cers know what it takes to mount a comeback after last week’s heroics and they nabbed one back through Coman against the run of play. Later, deep into the second half, they pounced once again with a header from creative genius Gomez. Reguilon thought he’d thrown it away for Halfman when he inexplicably fired a rebounded shot into his own net, but the hosts were unwilling to lose in such fashion and Coutinho extended his golden-boot lead to spare the worst of their blushes. What a game.

Os Patos
Los Hijos de Chud
Los Hijos came into this fixture as the league’s least prolific team but they more than played their part in this goalfest. They quickly assumed a solid lead through Maguire’s header and Kroos’s howitzer and, despite a response from Shaqiri, restored their cushion through a powerful Muller strike. After the break, though, the Ducks offered more threat on the counter, with first Luis Alberto then Felix breaking through to pull it back. But there was no question as to which was the more complete team performance and Los Hijos got their just reward for their domination when the substitute Zaha nipped through for the winner. If they can tighten up at the back, this is evidence that the league newcomers have what it takes to move much higher up the table.

Mancs in Black
The MiB struggled more than most to retain possession and create chances against Bruce’s cagey side, and it was the hosts who took the lead – even as it left St Maximin on the treatment table after he pulled up injured while in the process of setting up Wilson. However, the Mancs seemed to take this as an affront and seized control of the game. Saul nodded home the equaliser from a corner before the pressure told on the hosts’ back line, who proved to be a little less than galaxy defenders when Dummett put the winner past his own keeper.
