Firmly in the mire, Favre’s inexperienced rabble were not fancied at all against one of the league’s best teams, but handled themselves ably. The Pigs were given little space to demonstrate their superiority in possession, and their frustrations were compounded when the expressive Pellegrini shot home a surprise winner deep in injury time. It inflicted the home side’s first defeat of the season, and how valuable a performance this could be for the struggling Menace.
